Cervical Fusion

A spinal fusion procedure is a surgery to permanently join two bones together so there is no longer movement between them.

A Cervical Spinal Fusion can be done 2 different ways. One way is to use a small piece of bone from the hip. This is place within the space between two spinal vertebrae. The second way is to place an implant withingthe space between two spinal vertebrae. Then a plate and screws are used to hold the vertebrae together, so they can heal into one solid unit.

The correction of movement between the bones of the spine can eliminate the severe pain caused by a variety of spine disorders.
